S3 Housing Advocacy Action Group

HOUSING ADVOCACY ACTION GROUP:
●This group will continue to raise awareness and educate about affordable housing needs in Lee County and Sanford areas.
●The aim is to build an advocacy group that addresses local policies and accountability to meet these housing needs.
GOALS FOR 2025
- ONGOING – Carolina Across 100: Our State Our Home – this opportunity, if selected, will provide extensive training, research, and technical assistance for a local project. The team will work closely with the S3 Housing Advocacy Action Group to strengthen efforts in organizing and building an advocacy agenda as well as other work towards moving the needle on affordable housing. Team members include:
- Tradell Adkins, City of Sanford, Community Development Planner
- Kerry Bashaw, Brick Capital Community Development, Executive Director
- Cecelia Peers, Trillium Health Resources, Southern Regional Director
- Kristie Brayboy, Lee County Reentry Program, Pre-trial and Reentry Manager
- Engage the 120 community engagement session attendees through
- Virtual meetings
- Sharing 2024 input results
- Setting priorities
- Developing a next steps action plan
- Cultivating individual relationships with key community stakeholders:
- Hold a session on Tenants’ Rights
- Virtual meetings
