Good morning,

Here is your weekly Homelessness Project update!

This week I began to work on S3 Housing Connect’s social media campaign. I started on the Facebook pages, and Kelly Miller, Byron Buckels, and I have been working on the website. Unfortunately, these things aren’t finished yet, but they will be soon! In addition, the logo is being worked on by several people and we hope to have something for you all to vote on sometime soon.

My favorite part of the week was attending National Night Out on Tuesday. I had never been to one of these events, but I loved seeing all of Sanford’s different communities coming together and having fun.

Subcommittees have been continuing to meet, and I am extremely excited about how much is being accomplished at each meeting. Data and Metrics committee met on Monday, and are creating a survey to hand out to the homeless at local organizations. This will enable Data and Metrics committee to start collecting local data. This survey will be ready to be used within the next couple of weeks.

Speaking of meetings, yesterday I was able to meet with Morgan Barbour from the Sanford Area Growth Alliance to learn more about what the Chamber of Commerce is, and I had the privilege of going to a Regional Housing meeting. At this meeting, a consultant from the North Carolina Coalition to End Homeless gave a presentation on Coordinated Assessment, and the importance of having this system in cities like ours. I have learned so much this summer and I am so thankful to each of you for giving me these great educational opportunities.

The next S3 Housing Connect meeting will be this upcoming Thursday, the 10th, at 5:30 PM. Karen Kennedy will be sending out an email sometime soon with the agenda and the meeting notes from our July 27th meeting.

Have a great weekend!
