Living in an Unsheltered Situation

It is our mission to bring together the needed resources in Sanford, North Carolina, and Lee County to create a coordinated and comprehensive approach to ensure that homelessness is prevented whenever possible or is otherwise a rare, brief, and non-recurring experience.

SHELTER

People who find themselves without shelter and no place to sleep deserve shelter. S3 partners provide shelter beds for those who are fleeing domestic violence, seeking an opportunity to restart their life, and trying to stay warm on extremely cold nights.

SERVICE

People experiencing homelessness need a variety of support services. Many of the S3 member agencies provide services related to ensuring physical/mental health, seeking employment, and meeting basic needs.

STABILITY

Ultimately the combination of shelter and services can lead to stable housing. However, S3 partners continue to advocate across the community to find affordable rental units that are safe and create stability for those households who have experienced homelessness.

About S3 Housing Connect

We are a task force focused on preventing homelessness in our community and county. This collaborative effort includes many community partners all focused on helping create a system that helps individuals and families experiencing homelessness.

What We're Doing

Since our first task force meeting on June 29, 2017, we have celebrated several accomplishments. But there is still more work to be done. You will find our schedule, meeting agendas, and minutes from past work. You will also find upcoming meetings that you are welcome to attend.
